During
the past 21 years since starting the company, its owner and chief ice
cream maker Will Hawking has created some of
the tastiest ice creams available at a price to suit most families. He
has been able to do this by keeping down his overheads and using as
many home grown resources as possible.
Still
very much a family concern, Marshfield has fifteen employees – not
counting the herdsman who milks the cattle twice each day! As a team,
they are proud of the reputation the ice cream has gained for consistent
product quality and this was helped further by an improved cold storage
area which was put in last year to ensure the product is kept at
a guaranteed temperature of minus 28 degrees Centigrade – the ideal
temperature for ensuring quality ice cream.
