Marshfield Continues with Renewable Energy

Despite having our Wind Turbine application turned down we have continued to push forward in trying to reduce our energy consumption. This Autumn saw the barn roof covered in Photo voltaic solar panels - 120 to be precise and later this year we will be adding some more to give us 210 panels in total on various farm buildings. This will provide us with  50 kilowatts of energy per year which is the equivalent of 12 homes use of electricity,  this accounts for 10% of our total site needs for the farm and the ice cream. (the wind turbine would of supplied all our electricity!) Not only that but we are trying to use heat recovery systems wherever possible and all our

Cold store walls are over specified which makes them more efficient in holding in the the temperature.

It is all good news and we continue to look into other alternative forms of green energy.
