Marshfield Ice Cream

Plastic in our Packaging

Have you noticed our little change in the Marshfield Farm family? From here in, we’re changing all our Marshfield Farm black packaging to clear to ensure our tubs fit your local recycling policies.

As a business we’ve been in talks for the past year on the best cause of action for our packaging. While black plastic is recyclable, some councils refuse the product and therefore the lid is sent to landfill. Due to hygiene specifications we’re unable to change our lids to cardboard (mainly because the lid just falls off!) Therefore we hope making this small change from black plastic to clear makes a big impact.

We’ll be updating our news page with information on our packaging policy on the farm, so make sure to check back for any further changes to our production. We regularly update our social media with our recycling story so make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram  or search for us @marshfieldices
