Our Impact
We are a homegrown British farm and multi award-winning manufacturer. One family, one farm, one herd - it doesn’t get more traceable than that!

Our mission
Marshfield Farm is a home, a farm and a multi award-winning ice cream manufacturer. We tend to eleven hundred acres of farmland on the Cotswold Way and every drop of milk in our ice creams can be traced back to the fields it first came from.
Sustainability on the Farm
The entirety of ice cream production happens on-site. This unique position allows us to constantly evolve and invest in green measure to make our production more sustainable.
Green Energy
We have over 1500 solar panels across our barn roofs, accounting for approximately 40% of all our electricity requirements which helps to power our factory, offices and freezer capacity here on the farm.
Sustainable Fuel
Our Wood Pellet Boiler on the farm heats 100% of the hot water for our on-site factory. This is a green energy resource that is fuelled with sustainably sourced pellets from UK
forestry.
Self-sufficient for Water
Boreholes are a natural water source similar to a well. Because the water we extract from our borehole is filtered and certified safe for consumption, we are self-sufficient for water across the farm, milking parlour and farm house.
Low Food Miles
Over 50% of every ice cream tub is made with our herd’s fresh organic milk; we therefore keep our food miles low by only ever using our own herd’s milk in our ice cream.
Onsite Cold Storage
Our new 1100 pallet cold-storage unit is fuelled by four condensers, twice the amount actually needed so that we can save energy by running these with less power. This new storage onsite has also saved approx. 18,200 miles of fuel per annum* (*compared to the journey needed previously to offsite storage sollutions).
Recyling energy
In an aid to reduce our energy output we installed a Heat Exchange Unit in our factory to store lost energy during pasteurisation; this recycled energy is then utilised to heat water in the milking parlour.
100% Recycable Packaging
Our current packaging can be widely recycled. In 2019, we began the process to change all our mini tub lids to paperboard and wooden
spoons and we removed all black plastic from our range in 2017.
