We're BRCGS Start! Accredited

We are so thrilled to announce we have achieved BRCGS Start! Accreditation for our ice creamery.

We've been making ice cream on our family farm for over 35 years and quality has always been at the top of our list of priorities. Throughout the years, we have endeavoured to keep up with the highest food safety standards and we are so proud to have this latest certification to our name.

What is BRCGS Start!?

BRCGS is the Global Food Safety Standard and has set the benchmark in food safety for nearly 25 years. It has been adopted by over 22,000 sites in more than 130 countries, the standard is accepted by 70% of the top 10 global retailers, 60% of the top 10 quick-service restaurants, and 50% of the top 25 manufacturers.

BRCGS Start! is the agency's entry level accreditation, recognising and encouraging smaller, independent food businesses to maintain high levels of food safety standards. It's our ambition to become full BRCGS accredited within 5 years, something that 30% of Start! accredited business achieve.

What's involved in becoming BRCGS Start!?

Our technical team have certainly been busy over the past few months. Although our systems have always been of a very high standard, becoming BRCGS Start! accredited required a rigorous audit and proving high levels of food safety processes, supplier transparency and ensuring we make our ice cream with integrity, legality and quality.

What does this mean for you as a Marshfield Farm customer?

For our customers, this is a stamp of approval that we are making our ice cream in a safe environment and keeping quality to a very high standard.
