We made a MOOvie!

November 18, 2025

Our farm on the (small) screen! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been teaming up with a brilliant crew to capture life on our farm and give everyone a peek at who we are, and what makes us a bit different.

In a world of giant factories and conveyor-belt food, we like to do things the proper, down-to-earth way. Our new MOOvie shows what single-origin really looks like: milk travelling just 50 steps from our milking parlour to tub, the same family looking after the same fields for over forty years, tradition and innovation living quite happily under the same roof.

This isn’t us being sentimental, it’s simply how we do things. We’re sharing the real moments: the well-worn chairs and shiny tanks, muddy boots and hairnets, the whole honest mix. We’re a farm that makes ice cream, and we really mean it. One family, one farm, one very happy herd of cows.

Now what are you waiting for? Click below to watch!

After watching how everything comes together, it only feels right to share the story of the people who built it from the ground up.

Three generations of the Hawking family have been farming the land we love for over 50 years. Will began making ice cream in 1988, he started by creating our classic Vanilla Clotted Cream flavour, in what is now our photography studio. In 2008, Dawn, Will's wife joined the business and that's when things really started to take off. Fast forward to today, we have 60 people on the farm, a good collection of accolades for our delicious ice cream and the whole family are involved too.

And what about the story of our farm?

Our story first began when Will’s parents came to live on the farm in 1971. Things looked very different back then. They used traditional methods to farm three hundred acres of land. The Hawking family (all three generations) remain very much rooted in the business, with Will’s son Rory now heading up the farm team, he’s always looking at new technology and innovation to improve how the farm runs. This is why we made the switch from organic to Regenerative farming practices. We are very lucky to have a dedicated team of five farmers working all year round to look after our cows and the fields that we get to call home. We have James, our herdsman, Rich who has worked on this farm for an incredible 53 years, Dan chief combine driver and Ollie doing his placement year with us from RAU.

Back in 1971 the Hawking family were farming three hundred acres of land, with only two employees moving a mobile milking parlour out into a field to milk their small dairy herd of just 35 cows.

Fast forward to today, the herd has grown to over 250 British Friesian cows, and eleven-hundred acres of regeneratively farmed land. Our herdsman, James, spends his whole day tending to our herd, answering to their every MOO. At the beginning of this year we moved to a robotic milking system, and the switch has been a resounding success for our cows and farmers. With the robots in place the cows now take themselves to be milked whenever they desire. This, as well as our RSPCA Assured accreditation, shows we are always striving to put our best hoof forward for our herd.
