Matcha Ice cream Floats - 6 ways!

Matcha is having a real moment. And on a hot summer's day, you can't beat a cold iced matcha, unless you top it with a scoop of real dairy Marshfield ice cream. So we headed to the kitchen and whipped up matcha ice cream floats, six ways. Here are our favourites, ready to make at home, sell in your parlour or café, or get on your Instagram in no time.

How to make the perfect Iced Matcha Ice cream float

What you’ll need:

  • Good quality Matcha powder
  • Hot boiling water
  • A matcha whisk or milk frother will also work
  • Ice
  • Milk or dairy alternative
  • Marshfield ice cream (your flavour of choice)
  • Ice cream scoop
  • Any toppings or sauces you’d like

A step-by-step guide:

  1. Start of by adding a teaspoon (or the recommended amount for your matcha) to a cup, then add 30mil of boiling water and use your matcha whisk or milk frother to whizz it up!
  2. Then, get your favourite glass and fill it to the top with ice
  3. Next, fill your glass ¾ full (need some space for your scoop) with milk (or alternative)
  4. Then, pour over your freshly whisked matcha
  5. Next, add a generous scoop of your favourite Marshfield ice cream (The best step)
  6. Lastly, add a straw and give it a taste!!!
  7. Vanilla clotted cream

One for the classic matcha drinkers, this combination doesn’t overpower the matcha flavour at all and complements it so well with that earthy depth of the matcha and the perfectly sweet vanilla clotted cream Marshfield ice cream. If you’re a matcha lover or you sell to them, this is the perfect add on for your menu.

Funky Banana

This combination is inspired by the viral banana pudding matcha that’s been going around on social media. While the weather is hitting the 30s, it’s an amazing time to cool yourself down with an iced matcha paired with a scoop of our delicious funky banana ice cream. This was one of our favourites as the two balance each other out so well.

Succulent Strawberry

Strawberry matcha has been very popular for a long time now, we thought it’s time for an upgrade. Take your matcha to the next level with an extra scoop of our succulent strawberry ice cream, it looks amazing and you or your customers will really appreciate the beautiful aesthetics this brings. This is a great one for people starting out with matcha as it complements its flavours while turning down any bitter notes a first-time matcha drinker may not enjoy.

Cookie Dough

Bring out your inner child with a scoop of Marshfield cookie dough ice cream. We paired this with a swirl of chocolate sauce in the cup, adding an Instagram-worthy look to your matcha, you could also pair this with some chocolate drops on the top to intrigue your customers even more!

Salted Pistachio

Pistachio’s another flavour having its moment right now, so why not pair the two together, we’ve discovered these two are fabulous together and create a refreshing and tasty iced drink, perfect for this hot weather. We also had a great idea that you could even take this to the next-next level by adding some chocolate sauce, creating a Dubai chocolate matcha.

Caramelised Biscuit

Inspired by Biscoff, this matcha is another great pairing that complement each other so well, the warmth and caramelly flavours from the caramelised biscuit Marshfield ice cream, paired with the earthy notes from the matcha create a delicious, iced drink, you and your customers are sure to enjoy.
